Highbush cranberry

Viburnum trilobum. A native Canadian species, and a great option for a wildlife or privacy hedge. A deciduous shrub, growing up to ~13 ft in height. Beautiful, snow-white flowers in the spring, followed by bright-red berries and red foliage in the fall, this plant is beautiful. Berries are favoured by many bird species, including waxwings. The berries are sour and high in vitamin C, with a large, flat seed. Best used processed into jams and sauces or for making cordials.
