Grafting

The art of grafting allows us to increase the variety of our fruit trees without increasing the size of our orchards. It’s also remarkably cheap once you know how to graft, you can trade scionwood across the country for free, as opposed to buying expensive trees! In this workshop, we will go over cleft grafting – one of the easier grafting techniques. We will use cheap grafting supplies that you can get in any hardware store and that will get the job done without breaking the bank. 

What you'll take home with you:
- you will be able to select from a wide variety of scions to take home for free, to graft your own trees
- you'll receive a pdf handout with the grafting process, a list of the materials, and links to supplemental resources
- you'll be able to purchase rootstocks if you want to make a brand-new tree
