Grafting

The art of grafting allows us to increase the variety of our fruit trees without increasing the size of our orchards. It’s also remarkably cheap once you know how to graft, you can trade scionwood across the country for free, as opposed to buying expensive trees! In this workshop, we will go over cleft grafting – one of the easier grafting techniques. We will go over cheap, “over-the-counter” grafting supplies that will get the job done without breaking the bank.

This will be a demonstration-style workshop - that is, participants will not be able to do the grafting themselves, due to insurance limitations. However, participants will be able to take a variety of scions home with them, to graft their own trees. Workshop is 2 h long and is best suited for gardeners who already have a fruit tree and are looking to add new varieties.
