Self-fertile, a great choice for a location with good soil/drainage if you're looking for only one tree. Flower clusters are smaller than those of Ranch, but the berries are considerably larger. An excellent choice if you're looking for an easier-to-pick elderberry to make syrups or pies. Ripens later than Ranch and offers a prolonged harvest - some clusters are ready for picking in early September, while others go into mid-October.

Sambucus nigra x S. canadenis. A cross between the native American elderberry and the highly-nutritious European elderberries. These trees are a fantastic addition to the pantry - from making elderberry flower syrup to making jam and syrup from the berries. The berries are highly nutritious, with high antioxidant content. And to round it off, elderberries also make beautiful garden specimens, with their huge, creamy white flowers, lacy leaves, and large bunches of dark berries.
