Borage

Borago officinalis. Borage is an annual herb. While we mainly carry edible perennials, we make the occasional exception, and this is one such case. While borage is an annual, it comes back year after year due to reseeding; and its reseeding is generally in good taste, with offspring plants remaining close to the originally planted plant, as opposed to spreading all over the garden. The leaves are edible and have a mild refreshing cucumber flavour (but they're fuzzy! best suited for teas and smoothies, unless very young leaves are harvested).
The flowers, also edible, make beautiful salad additions, but have honey-like taste and are also perfectly suited for decorating desserts and cocktails. The flowers are extremely attractive to pollinators, and the plant will hum with bees all summer long. Plant grows to 3 ft in height, with 2-3 ft of spread. Plants prefer full sun to part shade. Price is for 1 plant in 4'' pot.
